PORTSMOUTH WIFE'S SHOCK
HUSBAND FALLS DOWN DEAD IN BEDROOM
Reginald John Hewwood (29), of 13, Plymouth Street, Southsea, a shunter employed by the Southern Railway Company, went to bed on Sunday evening, and some time later his wife was startled by a thud, and then saw her husband lying on the bedroom floor.
A doctor who was called found Henwood dead.
At an inquest held yesterday by Sir Thomas Bramsdon, the Portsmouth Borough Coroner, the widow said her husband had recently come out of hospital after being successfully operated upon for hernia. He had also suffered from rheumatism.
Dr. J. H. C. Green said the cause of death was syncope, following upon advanced disease of the heart.
The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
