Speeding Van

"I was watching the road, not my speedometer," said Frederick William Kimpton, of Udimore-road, Rye, who was summoned for having exceeded the 30 miles per hour speed limit with a motor van, in Military-road, Winchelsea, on March 19th.

P.C. H. Kings, of Battle, said when on motor cycle patrol he followed defendant for half a mile towards Rye. Over the half-mile his speed was 43 miles per hour.

It was stated that it was Kimpton's first offence, and he was fined 1.
