Aughton Bride
A lovely gown of heavy white lace over white slipper satin was worn by Miss Audrey Wareing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wareing, of 30, Long Lane, Aughton Park, when she was married at St. Anne's R.C. Church, Ormskirk, on Whit Monday, to Mr. Peter McLoughlin, of 69, Lea Crescent, Ormskirk.
The Rev. Fr. B. Teeley officiated and Mr. William Turner, at the organ, played Handel's "Largo" and "Ave Maria."
The bride was given away by her father, completed her ensemble with a long veil of white net held in place by a coronet of Rhinestones to match her necklace, a gift from the bridegroom. Her dress had a scalloped neckline and a very full skirt and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and lily of the valley.
The bridesmaides were in sweet pea shades of pink and blue, matching their crescent bouquets and head dresses. Miss Nancy McLoughlin, the bridegroom's sister, had a ballerina length dress of powder blue, fine lace and Miss Margaret Woodhouse, friend of the bride, was in a similar style of palest pink lace.
Mr. Thomas McLoughlin, the bridegroom's brother, was best man and the groomsmen were Messrs, Donald Green, Leslie McLoughlin, Desmond McLean, John Lowe, James Green and Bernard Jerman.
A blue-grey costume, with black accessories, was worn by the bridegroom's mother and the bride's mother chose a navy and white broderie Anglaise dress, with a navy hat and matching accessories. Both had sprays of whitr carnations.
After the reception at Church House, Ormskirk, Mr. and Mrs. McLoughlin left for their honeymoon in Oxford. To travel, the bride chose a navy and maize dress under a maize coat, with navy accessories.
