STREET ACCIDENT. - While crossing Commercial-road, near All Saint's Church, Landport, on Monday evening, a girl named Grace Kimpton, of 6 North-road, Church-street, was knocked down by a horse attached to a cart, and in charge of Samuel Bessant, of 24 Jacob-street. The horse fell over the girl, and the driver was thrown out of the vehicle. Bystanders ran to render assistance, and Grace Kimpton, on being extricated, was carried to the Hospital, her face and forehead being badly bruised. The House Surgeon was unable to determine whether she had sustained more serious injuries, and admitted her to the Institution for treatment and observation. Bessant fortunately remained unhurt. He states that he was unable to avert the accident, and persons who witnessed the occurrence agree that he was not to blame.
