STREET TRADERS AT KINGSTON CEMETERY

The remains of the late Mr. Jacob Curtis, who died on the previous Sunday at his residence, 134 Wingfield Street, at the advanced age of 90, and was the oldest member of the Portsmouth street Traders' Association, were laid to rest at Kingston Cemetery on Thursday week. A large number of the deceased man's friends thronged the Church and graveside.

The service was conducted by the Rev. A. L. Hill at All Saints' Church, the family mourners being Messrs Charles and Henry Curtis (sons), Leonard and Isaac Curtis, and Arthur Kimpton (grandsons) and W. Barrington (son-in-law). The pall-bearers were members of the Street Traders' Association, viz., Messrs W. Adshead, G. Froud, J. Darvill, senr., C. Hill, E. Arnold and G. Lodge, while many officials and members of the Association were present, including Messrs G. White (President), C. Slape and G. Harvey (trustees), T. Wallis (Treasurer), G. Kennett and G. Lee (Assistant Secretary). The Floral tributes were both numerous and beautiful, among them being one from the Street Traders' Association.
