THREE MILK CASES--When Mr. V. Stokes pleaded guilty on behalf of Henry Frederick Russell, a dairyman, who was summoned for selling milk 20 per cent, deficient in milk fat, he said that the defendant had been extremely unfortunate. For the last six years he had been carrying on business as a dairyman, and had obtained his milk from one firm. On several occasions this milk had been analysed by the Corporation Inspector, and always found to be satisfactory. In fact,the Inspector had described it as excellent milk. Unfortunately for the defendant, he became short of milk on the day the Inspector called, and he supplemented his supply with milk from another firm. The milk was mixed, which was un fortunate for the defendant, who could not say which milk was deficient. Russell was fined £2. ...
