IN MEMORIAM

"The death occurred at Cherry Garden Square, Park-Street, Crediton, on March 4th of Mrs W Flood, widow of the late Mr William Flood, who died three months ago. Much sympathy is extended to the family in there double loss. Both Mr. and Mrs. Flood were respected by a wide circle of friends. As a humorist Mr. Flood was well known, his store of reminiscences of old times in Kirton being unlimited. He is also remembered as having entered a den of lions at a travelling menagerie which visited Crediton. Mrs. Flood who was 67 years of age, had been ill for about twelve months.
   The funeral took place on Saturday last at the churchyard of the Holy Cross, Crediton. The Vicar the Rev. Preb. W. M. Smith-Dorrieon, . D. He offciated in the presence of a large number of sympathisers. The mourners were; Mr. C. Flood (Leicester), son; Mrs Smith (London), daughter; Misses Rose and Mary Smith (London), grand-daughters; Mrs. Parrott (Taunton), sister; Mrs. Labbett (Crediton), aunt; Mr. C. Vicary, brother-in-law; Miss Labbett (Crediton), cousin; Mr. C. Flood (Crediton), brother-in-law; Mrs. Vicary (Crediton), sister-in-law; Mr. C. Vicary (Crediton), nephew; Mrs. Browning(Launceston), sister-in-law; Mr. F. Vicary (Crediton), nephew; Mrs C. Flood (Crediton), sister-in-law. The polished panelled coffin, with brass mountings, bore on the breastplate the inscription; "Elizabeth Mary Flood, died March 4th. 1920, aged 67 years." The bearers were Messrs. A. Kenshole, C. Burridge, J. G. Tothill, F. Grant, W. Vicary, and W. Howard. Many beautiful wreaths were placed on the graveside."
