PTE. COLIN FLOOD, son of Mr. and Mrs. Flood, Cherry Gardens, Park-street, Crediton, who has been killed in action in France. Some five years ago he went to Australia, and volunteered for active service. He was always very popular at Crediton.

My Dear Colin
   Just a line in answer to your letter which i was very glad to get from But i was sorry to hear you are poorly the kidneys is a very bad thing and i will try and send you a box of doans pill they are a fine thing for that trouble when Kit goes up the town well Colin i do hope and trust you are all right in this big it a terriable thing it time for them to stop it well Colin i was Glad you had a letter from Char and Glyads it was nice of them to send to you and to send a parcel as well well Father is getting on a bit with his gardening But he says he is so tired with doing he done for by the time he comes in i had a letter from Bill Roach this week he tell me he have put in for his leave and he will call on us well i hope you are better by now well i dont think Maud will get Kit up with her she is not fit to go to London and in those air raids to it not right for her to go and Ern away if any thing Happen to her and the Children what a job it would Be and they are not strong neither of course she will please herself well Kit will write to you and Amy i suppose you have heard from her well i hope you ant in this push it is terriable well Barnett Elston is dead died on Saterday night well now i will draw to a close with my Best love to you and AG Fields hoping to hear soon and that this will fine you better Colin trust in the one above he will see you through
